If you assign a single sign-on authentication method to a user, provide them with authentication instructions. For details, see Signing in using single sign-on authentication.
Configuring authentication for users invited by license administrators
License administrators can invite people to licenses.
If there are several authentication methods configured in a license, a license administrator must select the authentication method for each user being added. If the selected authentication method requires filling additional user fields, they are prompted to fill these fields.
If an administrator skips filling the required user fields, the user is added to the license with the "Suspended" status. To learn how to complete their registration in the license, see Configuring user fields required by an authentication method.
Configuring authentication for users imported from spreadsheets
License administrators can import people to licenses from spreadsheets.
All users added from a spreadsheet will have the same authentication method. A license administrator specifies the authentication method during the import.
If the authentication method requires filling additional user fields, a license administrator can add the fields to the spreadsheet. If they choose not to add them, the users will be added to the license with the "Suspended" status. To learn how to complete their registration in the license, see Configuring user fields required by an authentication method.
Configuring authentication for users invited by project administrators
Project administrators can invite people to projects. When they invite a user who is not a license member, further workflow depends on the authentication methods configured in the license. The user is added to the project with one of the following statuses:
- Status: "Pending."
- User authentication parameters do not require a license administrator's review.
- The user is added to the list of license members and gets an invitation email.
- Status: "Pending approval."
- User authentication parameters require a license administrator’s review.
- The user is added to the "Waiting for approval" list.
- Once a license administrator reviews the authentication parameters and approves the invitation, the user is added to the list of license members and gets an invitation email.
