Steel fabrication vs steel design Follow
This video shows how you can compare design and fabrication models to track construction progress (on the example of steelwork). While there is no way to fully automate the comparison, you can use Revizto tools to spot all the differences in almost no time.
- Create a search set with several conditions that returns all steel pieces available in the design model.
- Use the search set to isolate the steel pieces in the design model and hide the rest.
- Open the fabrication model. It is all steel, so there is no need to isolate anything.
- Apply a solid color to one model and a transparent color to the other one.
The solid color overrides the transparent one, so all parts that are identical in both models appear in that color. All parts that are different or incomplete give a glimpse of the transparect color, which is super easy to spot.
Once you set this up, you can update both models as often as you like, and you will always get an accurate comparison result. And finally, you can use a stamp template to mark steelwork pieces that need correction. This makes browsing the differences even easier.
The video is based on Revizto 5.2. Your user experience may slightly differ from the video due to recent Revizto updates.
