    Hey Federico!

Great discussion topic. We have tied the transform tool to the Edit 3D permission setting in the access roles. So you can certainly limit the use of the tool. Regarding how you can tell if a model has moved, it does show in the load / unload model settings, as well as the scenes and scheduler. Let me know if this helps, of if you feel as though we should make some changes here.

Oh right, you can only move a whole model right? Not single objects as in Navisworks... As it is now, it's good to know that only those with edit 3D permission are allowed to transform, but if Revizto will ever implement the same Navisworks tool and allows user to move single objects, it would be nice to have more granular control over the feature, since BIM coordinators from other trades might need to test clash resolution with simple transformations

I was going to create a new request on this but I think it is relevant to this request, it would be excellent to have single object movement in Revizto to allow our key roles (e.g. design review manager) to be able to optioneer for a client on positioning of equipment in a space as part of the design review, then provide an issue that will allow the design team to update the authoring software on the agreed position of equipment etc. this is a critical workflow on projects that supports clients determining in short time frames the most suitable layout.

This ofcourse would need to be controlled by the select few as per what Federico is outlining, but looks like the roles can manage that which will be acceptable from my point of view.

Yep. Agreed. I've done this workflow myself. Sitting with the whole team, manually nudging things here and there, sending the screenshot as part of the meeting minutes, everyone goes away and makes those changes. We have the markups and communication, with the issue tracker and switchback, but doing those adjustments on the fly is a challenge.

We have a request called Test Fit, I'll link this thread to that request to help explain how this workflow fits in with collaboration.

It would be good to know if this option is coming in the future. Team feedback was that this would be very helpful to them.

    Thanks,
    Ian

Hi folks, temporarily moving objects appears to be the number 1 requested feature within our entire group regardless of which region we speak to. Is this coming soon? Should I have a separate request for this so it doesn't get lost here? Any update appreciated!

Thank you to everyone that keeps adding to this thread. The feasibility of this feature is under review at the moment.

Hi Guys, jumping in on this one but might need to create a new feature request

I have been using a lot of IFC files on my projects with the rest of the models coming from Revit with real world coordinates. The problem is IFC files get placed at 0,0,0 due to the project origin location and require a scene transform to position them in the right location in the real world.

Currently this ability is gated behind the 3D edit option which also allows users to edit the models of other teams (contractually not a good thing). It would be ideal if the uploader has the ability to apply a scene transform to their own model but no one else's. Similar to how the closing of issues is handled.

    Thanks for everything
    Machiel.

I wanted to follow up on the the 2 points brought up here.

I'm sure you have all noticed that Temporary Move was release in 5.13. This allows you to move individual objects, temporarily.

Secondly, we are reviewing project permissions. I've added your comments regarding Scene Transform to the discussion.
