Dashboards - change timescale granularity different than period

Currently we can choose the period for the timescale on a dashboard chart, but we can't change the granularity. At the pace we work, I'd like to be able to do a 4-week chart that gives a data point for each day. If we could control the timescale granularity separately from the total period, that would give some great flexibility for our dashboards.
