CAD Line Object Separation

Similar to the need with 3D elements from Revit, when importing linework from CAD, linework gets summarized for x-refs. This limits us to manual workflows or automations for individual CAD files when exporting to Revizto from Civil 3D or AutoCAD. It would be easiest for us if we had the option to separate out linework inside of any x-refs for individual selection and referencing in the object tree.

  CAD format links in Revit are treated as a single entity therefore we do too.

  Linework from Xref drawings though does come to the Object Tree as geometry.

  Thanks Laura Sharpe! Are you aware if this is the case for Civil3D CAD files as well? I continue to have the issue where I'm unable to select individual items inside of xrefs when exporting from Civil3D. It's not a HUGE issue since I can export x-refs separately and create separate CAD exports. I'm also seeing an issue when exporting Civil3D CAD files that have surfaces in Civil3D. It looks like it automatically cuts surfaces where they intersect one another when there are multiple surfaces in the export.

  You can xref Civil3D files into another and the geometry is selectable.

  I am going to create a ticket for you. There may be something more to your workflow that we need to investigate.
