Configuring authentication parameters for new license members Follow
This article is intended for license administrators. It provides an overview of configuring authentication parameters for new license members.
For details, see the following sections:
- Configuring authentication for license members added from the "Users" page
- Configuring authentication for license members imported from spreadsheets
- Configuring authentication for license members added through project invitations
If you assign a single sign-on authentication method to a license member, provide them with authentication instructions. For details, see Signing in using single sign-on authentication.
Configuring authentication for license members added from the "Users" page
License administrators can add people to licenses from the "Users" page.
If there are several authentication methods configured in a license, a license administrator assigns an authentication method to each license member.
For users with Active Directory authentication, a license administrator is prompted to enter their usernames in the Active Directory domain. If the administrator leaves a username blank, the user is added to the license with "Suspended" status. To learn how to complete their registration in the license, see Configuring domain usernames for license members with Active Directory authentication.
Configuring authentication for license members imported from spreadsheets
License administrators can import people to licenses from spreadsheets.
All license members added from a spreadsheet will have the same authentication method. A license administrator assigns the authentication method during the import.
For users with Active Directory authentication, their usernames in the Active Directory domain are required. An administrator can add a column with the usernames to the spreadsheet. If they choose not to add the column, the users are added to the license with "Suspended" status. To learn how to complete their registration in the license, see Configuring domain usernames for license members with Active Directory authentication.
Configuring authentication for license members added through project invitations
Project administrators can add people to projects through project invitations. When they add a user who is not a license member, the user's authentication parameters might require a license administrator's approval.
To learn how to configure their authentication parameters and approve their license membership, see Approving license members added through project invitations.
