Managing scenes and models Follow
A scene is a data set published from a third-party authoring tool to Revizto in a single publishing operation. A scene can include models, linked sheets, and viewpoints.
A model is a set of 3D objects and their properties, which is generated from a single third-party file.
The term "model" replaced "link" in Revizto 5.5.

Adjusting model sizes and positions
You can adjust the size and position of models to align them with other parts of the 3D model. These changes apply to all models in a scene.
To adjust model sizes and positions:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the application window, click 3D.
-
On the top toolbar, click Object Tree .
-
Right-click the scene that contains the models, and then click Transform scene.
-
Edit the scene settings and click OK.
The assortment of settings depends on the authoring tool where the models were created.
Setting Description Units Measurement units.
Some model types store distances without measurement units, so you have to specify the units.
Coordinate system The method of aligning the models with Revizto coordinates origin.
We recommend that you select the same value for all models in your project. This minimizes the need for manual adjustments.
Origin Model offset.
Specify a vector for moving the origin point.
Rotation Model rotation.
Specify a point, a vector, and an angle. The model is rotated around the point. The vector sets the direction of the rotation axis.
Scale Model size multiplier.
This changes the model size while keeping the same origin.
Viewing scenes and models
You can view the scenes and models available in your project, and which of them are loaded.
Viewing scenes and models in Load/unload models
This method allows you to view important scene and model properties in a single table.
To view scenes and models:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the application window, click 3D.
-
On the top toolbar, click Load/unload models .
This opens a list where first-level objects are scenes, and second-level objects are models. The checkboxes in the left column show which ones are loaded.
The list contains the following columns:
-
Scene or Model name. The scene or model name in Revizto.
-
Size. The scene or model size.
-
Last published. The date when the scene or model was last updated from an authoring tool or a file.
-
Last published by. The user that last updated the scene or model, or the user that scheduled the last update.
-
Last synced. The date when the scene or model was synced with the data storage.
-
Last synced by. The user that last synced the scene or model.
-
Original name. The scene or model name in the source authoring tool, or the source file name.
-
Positioning. The method of aligning the scene and all its models with Revizto coordinate origin.
-
Transformation. Scene or model position adjustments made in Revizto.
-
Revizto version. The Revizto version that was used for the last scene or model update.
-
Model ID. A unique model ID. Revizto uses it to build a mapping with the source model.
-
You can change the order of columns by dragging them.
Viewing scenes and models in the object tree
To view models:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the application window, click 3D.
-
On the top toolbar, click Object Tree .
The first level of the object tree contains scenes, and the second one contains models. Loaded models are displayed in black. Unloaded models are displayed in gray.
Renaming scenes and models
Revizto users with "Add new 3D models" right can rename the scenes and models that they imported. Revizto users with "Manage all 3D models" right can rename any scenes and models.
To rename a scene or model:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the window, go to Edit > Model Management.
-
Do one of the following:
-
Select the scene or model and then, on the toolbar, click Rename .
-
Right-click the scene or model and click Rename.
-
-
Enter a new name and click OK.
Deleting scenes and models
Revizto users with "Add new 3D models" right can delete the scenes and models that they imported. Revizto users with "Manage all 3D models" right can delete any scenes and models.
You might want to delete a model if it was added to your project with incorrect settings. For example, if you accidentally created a duplicate, you can delete it.
If you want to improve the performance of a large project, consider unloading some models instead of deleting them. For more information, see Loading/unloading models.
When you delete a scene or model, the following rules apply:
-
Sheets that were published to Revizto with the model are not deleted.
-
Sheets and issues that were linked to the model coordinates are linked to Revizto coordinates.
-
Deleting a scene deletes all its models.
To delete scenes and models:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the window, go to Edit > Model Management.
-
Select the checkboxes next to the scenes and models that you want deleted.
-
Do one of the following:
-
On the toolbar, click Delete .
-
Right-click any of the selected models and click Delete.
-
-
Confirm the deletion.
Note that the deleted models might be added to the project again during the next scheduled publishing.
Loading/unloading models
You can load or unload models at any time. Unloading models that you do not need at the moment improves the performance of your device and provides a clear view of the model parts that you need for today's work.
Loading/unloading models in Load/unload models
To load or unload models:
-
In the Revizto application, open a project.
-
At the top of the application window, click 3D.
-
On the top toolbar, click Load/unload models .
-
Do one of the following:
-
In the left column, select or clear the checkboxes.
-
At the top, select a model preset.

Loading and unloading links (video)
The video is based on Revizto 5.3. It uses the terms "link" and "link preset," which were replaced by model and model preset in Revizto 5.5.
This video describes the load/unload models feature. It shows how to:
- Load and unload individual models to save device resources.
- Manage predefined sets of models to be loaded (model presets).
