Creating clash tests Follow
A clash test defines two sets of objects (selections A and B) that are tested for collisions or intersections with each other. Each object in selection A is tested for collisions with each object in selection B to perform clash detection. The one exception is the "Object A requires object B" clash test type, which tests whether each object in selection A has an object from selection B nearby and reports a clash if the object is not found.
Project members with the "Create clash tests" right can create clash tests in cloud and shared location projects. New clash tests can be created from scratch or by duplicating and editing an existing clash test.
Creating new clash tests
Clash tests can be created from the Clash Automation panel within the 3D environment in Revizto.
To create a new clash test:
-
Open the "Clash Automation" panel by clicking More
on the toolbar and selecting "Clash Automation", or by clicking Clash Automation
when in advanced view.
- Click New clash test
. This will open the clash test wizard.
- Select the clashing type. For more information on the available clashing types, refer to Clash test settings.
- Enter the clash test name at the bottom of the page, then click Next.
-
Select the clashing type settings, then click Next.
Each clashing type will have its own settings which can include what to clash (elements or geometries) and clearances or distances. For more information on individual clashing type settings, refer to Clash test settings.
- Choose the search sets or objects you want to test against each other for selections A and B. Depending on the clashing type, these panes will be labeled Search sets A and Search sets B or Objects A and Required objects B. Click Next.
-
If the project already has clash tests, you may be asked if you want to import settings from one of the existing tests. For detailed descriptions of clash test settings, refer to Clash test settings.
- If you want to import settings, select the relevant test from the dropdown menu, then select the settings that you want to import. Click Import and continue. You will have the option to edit the settings later.
- If you do not want to import settings, click Continue without import.
-
Continue through the remaining wizard pages to select clash test settings for ignoring clashes, grouping, and issue automation. For more information about the settings on each page, refer to the relevant sections in Clash test settings (Ignore clashes, Clashing type, Grouping, and Issue automation).
- If you chose to import settings from another test in the previous step, the selected settings will be prefilled where relevant.
If you do not want to choose settings for ignoring clashes, grouping, or issue automation, you can click Skip all in the bottom left of the window. This will save your test and close the test creation wizard.
- After selecting all your clash test settings in the wizard, click Finish.
- The new clash test will be added to the "Clash Automation" panel and will be checked out for editing, meaning it is only visible to you. In the "Settings" panel to the right, review the clash test's settings and edit them if needed by clicking
or
next to the relevant field.
- If the "Settings" panel is hidden, at the top of the "Clash Automation" panel, click Clash test settings
.
Not all clash test settings are included in the test creation wizard so it is important to review all settings at this stage.
- If the "Settings" panel is hidden, at the top of the "Clash Automation" panel, click Clash test settings
You can now choose to run clash detection or relinquish the clash test
so it is available to other project members with access to the test. Running clash detection will relinquish the test when complete.
Duplicating clash tests
Clash tests can be duplicated from the Clash Automation panel within the 3D environment in Revizto.
To duplicate a clash test:
-
Open the "Clash Automation" panel by clicking More
on the toolbar and selecting "Clash Automation", or by clicking Clash Automation
when in advanced view.
- Right-click the clash test you want to copy and click Duplicate. This will copy the clash test and all its settings, but will not copy the clash test results. The new, duplicated clash test will be checked out for editing and only visible to you.
-
In the "Settings" panel to the right, review the clash test settings and edit them if needed by clicking clicking
or
next to the relevant field.
- If the "Settings" panel is hidden, at the top of the "Clash Automation" panel, click Clash test settings
.
- If the "Settings" panel is hidden, at the top of the "Clash Automation" panel, click Clash test settings
You can now choose to run clash detection or relinquish the clash test
so it is available to other project members with access to the test. Running clash detection will relinquish the test when complete.
