Managing project roles Follow
A project role is a set of access rights granted to a Revizto project member. It determines the tasks that they can perform in the project.
All project members can view the roles of other project members. License administrators can add, edit, compare, and delete roles. Project administrators can assign roles to project members.

License administrators and project administrators can view all project roles and the access rights included in each role.
Viewing project roles as a license administrator
To view a project role:

Sign in to ws.revizto.com.

If you are a member of several licenses, ensure that the correct license is selected.

Do one of the following:

Go to License Management Tools, and then select Project Roles.

Open the project team, and then click Manage Project Roles.
This opens the list of project roles. You can click a column header to sort the list by a specific column.
To view the number of active license members that have a role, click the number in the Users column.
To view the number of projects where one or more project members have a role, click the number in the Projects column.

Find the role.
To filter roles, apply the filters at the top of the page.
To search for a role, type any part of the role name in the field in the upper-right corner.

In the Edit role list, click the edit button .
This opens a list of access rights. The rights that are included in the role have check marks next to them.
Viewing project roles as a project administrator
To view a project role:

Sign in to ws.revizto.com.

If you are a member of several licenses, ensure that the correct license is selected.

Go to Tools, and then select My Projects.

Open the project.

On the top toolbar, click Project Team.

In the Set project role field, select a role.

Click .
This opens a list of access rights. The rights that are included in the role have check marks next to them.
Creating project roles
License administrators can create project roles. All project roles are available in all projects associated with the license.
Creating project roles from scratch
To create a project role:
- Open the list of project roles.
- At the top, click New role.
- Enter the role name and select the checkboxes next to the access rights.
To view a description of an access right, move the pointer over it. For more detailed descriptions, see Project access rights.
Some access rights depend on other access rights. If you cannot select or clear a checkbox, consult Project access rights.
Some actions do not have associated access rights because they are available to all Revizto users. For more information, see Actions available to all users.

Click Save.
Creating project roles by copying
To create a project role:

Open the role that you want to use as a source.

Select or clear the checkboxes next to the access rights.
To view a description of an access right, move the pointer over it. For more detailed descriptions, see Project access rights.
Some access rights depend on other access rights. If you cannot select or clear a checkbox, consult Project access rights.
Some actions do not have associated access rights because they are available to all Revizto users. For more information, see Actions available to all users.
You can revert to the source role by clicking Reset.

At the bottom, click Save as new role.

Enter the role name and click Save.
Editing project roles
License administrators can edit project roles, including predefined ones.
To edit a project role:

If you want to edit the role name, click Edit role name, enter a name, and click Save.

Select or clear the checkboxes next to the access rights.
To view a description of an access right, move the pointer over it. For more detailed descriptions, see Project access rights.
Some access rights depend on other access rights. If you cannot select or clear a checkbox, see the role dependencies in Project access rights.
Some actions do not have associated access rights because they are available to all Revizto users. For more information, see Actions available to all users.
You can revert to the source role by clicking Reset.
- At the bottom, click Save.
Comparing project roles
License administrators can compare multiple project roles. The comparison includes the access rights provided by each role, the list of license members that have each role, and the list of projects where they belong.
To compare roles:
- Open the list of project roles.
- Select the roles that you want compared, and then, at the top of the list, click Compare roles.
This opens a list where each column contains the details of a single role.
List section Description Role name A dropdown list with a role selected. You can select a different role.
To add another column, click at the right of the table.
To remove a column, click next to it.
Users The number of active license members that have the role.
To view the license members, click the number in this line.
Projects The number of projects where one or more project members have this role.
To view the project members, click the number in this line.
Edit role To edit the role, click the Edit link in this column. All access rights The list of access rights available in each role.
To hide the access rights that are the same for all selected roles, select the Show differences checkbox.
Differences The list of access rights where differences are found.
To show the full list of access rights, clear the Show differences checkbox.
Deleting project roles
License administrators can delete project roles, except for the last one.
If you delete a project role that is assigned to a deactivated license member, the license member loses their connection to the projects where they had this role. Activating the license member won’t automatically return them to these projects.
To delete a project role:

Select the roles that you want deleted.
- At the top, click Delete.

If the role is assigned to any project members, in the Delete role dialog, select another role for them.

Click Delete.
Troubleshooting
Q: As a project administrator, I do not see the Manage Project Roles link.
A: You do not have enough rights. If you want to add or edit a role, ask a license administrators.
