This article explains how sheet version numbers are assigned and why they are not always successive.

Version numbering is available in cloud and shared location projects. It is not available in local projects.
The following table summarizes the activities that create new sheet versions, and the numbering rules that apply in these scenarios.
Activity | Result |
Import a new sheet from a file. |
This creates the first sheet version with a hyphen (-) instead of a number. It is marked with the Revizto icon: It will get a version number when you sync the project. |
Update an existing Revizto sheet from a file. Rename a Revizto sheet. Add or remove a sheet tag. |

In both cases, the sheet will get a version number when you sync the project. |
Rename a CDE sheet. |

Import a new sheet from a CDE document. |
This adds all versions of the CDE document to the version history. The versions are marked with the CDE icon: The version numbers come from the CDE. If you use Box with a subscription plan that does not support file versions, this adds a single sheet version with a hyphen (-) instead of the version number. The sheet with a hyphen will get a version number when you sync the project. |
Update an existing Revizto sheet from a CDE document. |
This adds all versions of the CDE document to the version history. The versions are marked with the CDE icon: The version numbers come from the CDE. If you use Box with a subscription plan that does not support file versions, this adds a single sheet version with a hyphen (-) instead of the version number. Sync a project. |
All Revizto sheets that were imported or updated from files or renamed after the previous sync change their versions from a hyphen (-) to the new project version. All CDE sheets that were imported or renamed after the previous sync are assigned the new project version. Now they are marked with two icons: the Revizto icon All sheets that were unchanged after the previous sync do not get any new versions. |
Detach a sheet from a CDE. |
This creates a new sheet version with a hyphen (-) instead of a version number. It is marked with the Revizto icon: It will get a version number when you sync the project. |
Revert to an earlier sheet version. |

The following example shows a version history where numbers are not successive.
The version history was created as follows:
