Account and license roles Follow
Account and license roles define the access rights granted to a Revizto user at the account or license level, determining the tasks in the account or license the user can perform.
Revizto comes with a set of predefined account and license roles. Administrative roles for the account or license allow those users to assign roles to other users.
For details, see the following sections:
For more information on project roles, see:
Account roles
There are three set account roles that an account member can have. These roles primarily govern access to account administration which includes managing users, licenses, and projects.
Account owner
The account owner role grants full control over an account, including its licenses and projects. Each account has a single account owner.
Account owners have all the same rights as members with the account admin role plus the following rights:
- Transfer the account owner role to another user.
- Delete the account.
- Transfer a license to another account.
Account admin
The account admin role grants full control over an account, including its licenses and projects, except for removing or changing the account owner, changing their own account role, or deleting the account.
Account admins have the following rights:
- Edit the account details (change the account name and company logo, and show or hide the companies, departments, and office locations of all account members).
- Add, edit, activate, deactivate, and delete authentication methods.
- Add new account members and approve invitations to an account made by license administrators (if they require approval).
- Delete any account member, except for themselves and the account owner.
- Assign account roles to all account members, except for themselves and the account owner.
- Edit tags, company, department, office location, and authentication method for any account members.
- Add or remove account members from licenses or projects in the account.
- Send email messages to account members directly from Revizto Workspace.
- Export account members and their activity to spreadsheets.
- View account logs and export them to spreadsheets.
- Access to all licenses and projects in the account.
- Create Revizto projects.
- Add, edit, and delete project roles.
Account admins that are license members automatically receive the Account admin (license role). This provides them with full license administrator rights in the license. However, account admins can still see and manage all licenses in the account, even without being added as a license member.
Account admins can only see projects in the Revizto application if they are a member of the project. However, they can see all projects in the account in Revizto Workspace and can perform the following actions there:
- Open any project in the account.
- Perform all actions available to project administrators in any project in the account (this includes adding themselves to any project).
Standard user
The standard user role does not grant any account-level rights. Standard users' rights are determined by their license and project roles.
This is the default account role.

The following table provides an overview of the license roles. For detailed descriptions, click the role names.

Super administrator

License members with the super administrator role have the same rights as members with the administrator role plus the following rights:
- Transfer the super administrator role to another user.
- Delete the license.
Administrator
The administrator role grants full control over a Revizto license and its projects, except for removing or changing the super administrator, changing their own license role, changing the role of account admins in the license, or deleting the license. Administrators occupy license slots.
Administrators have the following rights:
- View the number of occupied and available license slots.
- Edit the license name and company logo.
- Add new license members (if a new license member is not already an account member and an authentication method cannot be determined automatically for them, an account admin may need to approve them).

- Migrate projects from another license issued in this region (if they are the project owner in the source project or have the Administrator role in the source license).
- Migrate projects to another license issued in this region (if they have the content creator or administrator role in the destination license).
Administrators that are project members automatically receive the following roles in the project:
- Project owner if they created the project or were assigned this role explicitly.
- License administrator (project role) in all other cases.
Administrators can only see projects in the Revizto application only if they are a member of the project. However, they can see all projects in the license in Revizto Workspace and can perform the following actions there:
- Open any project assigned to the license.
- Perform all actions available to project administrators in any project assigned to the license (this includes adding themselves to any project).
Content creator
The content creator role is recommended for project managers. Content creators occupy license slots.
The content creator role grants a user the following rights:
- View their role in the license and the list of license administrators.
- Create Revizto projects from the Revizto desktop application.
- Add people who are not license members to projects (only if they are a project administrator).
- Migrate Revizto 4 projects to Revizto 5 (only if they are a project administrator).
- Other content creator rights in a project are defined by their project roles.
Collaborator
The collaborator project role is recommended for regular project team members. Collaborators occupy license slots.
The collaborator role grants a user the following rights:
- View their role in the license and the list of license administrators.
- Collaborator rights in a project are defined by their project roles.

The guest role grants the same rights as collaborator but does not require a license slot.
A license member is eligible for this role if they are a full member of another license that meets the following conditions:
- It is issued in the same region.
- It allows employees of the license member's company to be guests.
- It has the same or higher subscription plan. Available subscription plans are (from the lowest to the highest):
